“Mohiniyattam is more than the art I practice. It is a quiet journey inward. Through its grace, rhythm, and expression, I continue to discover new meanings in the art and the inner beauty of life.”
— Vidya Pradeep
Mohiniyattam is one of Kerala’s classical dance traditions, known for its gentle movements, expressive gestures, and lyrical rhythm.
Belonging to the lasya tradition, the dance embodies grace, emotional depth, and storytelling. Through flowing body movements, delicate hand gestures, and subtle facial expressions, Mohiniyattam brings poetry, mythology, and human emotion to life on stage.
In its quiet elegance lies a powerful language of expression that continues to resonate across generations.
Over the years, Vidya has presented Mohiniyattam at numerous cultural festivals and classical dance platforms in India and abroad.
Her performances reflect a deep engagement with the traditional repertoire of the art form while also exploring thoughtful choreographic interpretations. Through each performance, she seeks to preserve the aesthetic beauty and expressive richness that define Mohiniyattam.
Beyond the stage, Vidya is deeply committed to sharing the knowledge and tradition of Mohiniyattam with younger generations.
Through Antara Creations, her initiative dedicated to classical arts education, she trains young students in the discipline, expression, and philosophy of the dance form.
Her teaching emphasises patience, aesthetic sensitivity, and a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage that shapes Mohiniyattam.
